melina k Quite a nice romantic story in a Christmas background. It's Christmassy enough, but not overloaded with unnecessary cliché and excessive details. Rated 3.5/5 Stars •  Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/01/24 Full Review Carol S Low budget, awful script. It ran through every romance Christmas TV movie trope there is. The heroine has zero communication skills — the source of all problems here — and we're never told or shown why she and her boyfriend would be engaged. Everyone but especially he is one-dimensional. She's supposed to be strong-willed and so smart, yet caves on every issue that comes up. For a show supposedly featuring home design, what design that isn't fake (they covered an existing room with panels of paper to give its "before" look, then removed them for "after") seems to be a last-minute throw-together job from stuff they found on the streets. The final Victorian kitchen looked worse than the kitchen my grandmother had in her 30-year-old trailer back in the seventies. A shame in that the actors gave decent performances and Hilary played her normal TV persona just fine. They just had nothing else to work with.
