The Minions, exaggerated action sequences, and creative visual comedy provide plenty of entertaining moments, especially for younger audiences. Balthazar Bratt's obsession with the 1980s, over-the-top gadgets, music choices, and failed-child-star backstory make him one of the franchise's funniest and most memorable villains. Steve Carell continues to be excellent as Gru, keeping him as the emotional center of the series. His struggle between his old villain identity and his new life as a husband and father remains incredibly interesting. The main issue is that the film tries to do too much at once. Gru meeting Dru, Lucy adjusting to motherhood, the Minions leaving, Bratt's revenge, and the girls' stories all compete for attention. None of those ideas get enough time to fully develop, but the humor, animation, and characters are still enjoyable.
