Audience Member Unless one doesn't mind really silly teen comedies, this film will please little and few between. It has a couple interesting characters but much of them are written too lazily. Only a few have development arcs. The comedy works infrequently and the cinematography isn't that pleasing. I give him credit for trying to get those ideas out there. The problem is that he fills his film with so many characters and only a few of them are worth spending time with. A group of high school kids are shipwrecked on an island while on a whale watching field trip. One group are nerds and the other are jocks and popular kids. Immediately a fight as to who will rule the island ensues. It's a mix of "Lord of the Flies", "Animal Farm" and "Revenge of the Nerds." There are some funny lines and the film is not bad early on. But as it keeps going it deteriorates as it limps towards its silly conclusuon. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Gary Goldstein Los Angeles Times Cregan covers the basics of character, situation and theme here but never finds his comic footing, resulting in a debut feature that's more tired than inspired. Rated: 1/5 Mar 3, 2011 Full Review Ernest Hardy L.A. Weekly Unlike in a Hughes film, there are no classic lines, though there are some good ones, and the energy often flags, but the cast is appealing and there are low-grade chuckles aplenty.
