Audience Member Abstract... Glad i watched Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member No this is something i was talking about.....!!! an Extra Star for the attempt.... Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Love this movie which tries to portray realistic lives in a metropolis which is Mumbai. What's beautifully depicted is the interaction between the numerous classes of people and also an interaction of their aspirations. Numerous subtle stories with each having a dramatic impact on the other story. Prateek is a fabulous actor and he proves it again, hope he continues to succeed. Good story/direction/editing. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Better then I expected actually. Shubhra Gupta The Indian Express Dhobi Ghat is a strangely uneven film. Its beginning feels amateurishly put together; as it heads onwards, though, it finds an easy, flowing rhythm with just the occasional stutter. Rated: 2.5/5 Apr 3, 2019 Full Review Elizabeth Weitzman New York Daily News Nearly every element of Rao's debut is uneven. But her passionate vision of so much useless prejudice leaves a lingering impact. Rated: 2/4 Apr 12, 2016 Full Review Owen Gleiberman Entertainment Weekly The sex/class conflicts are way too twee. Rated: C+ Jan 29, 2011 Full Review Itrath Syed Georgia Straight This is still a love story, both for the city of Mumbai and for the kind of love that is as unaccounted for as it is freely given. Jul 4, 2016 Full Review Jay Antani Cinema Writer a refreshing, well-meaning entry in India's new brand of globally savvy cinema, [which] augurs exciting things from [director] Rao and her peers Rated: 3/4 Jan 30, 2012 Full Review Simon Foster sbs.com.au Captured with the assuredness of a true auteur's vision and defying all known conventions of commercial Indian filmmaking, Dhobi Ghat will be a revelation to those that think sub-Continental cinema is just all song-and-dance.
