Anton Bitel Sight & Sound a hilarious mix of production observation, movie-making incompetence, and unhinged self-implication into an art that always needs outsider input to renew itself. Aug 18, 2016 Full Review Emilie Black Cinema Crazed ... self-deprecating at times and meta while being a commentary on online fan boys and their access to celebrities, stalkers, and how everyone now thinks they can make a better movie on crowd funding. Rated: 4/5 Apr 19, 2020 Full Review Adam Lowes HeyUGuys Directors Cut is a unique endeavour that it never outstays its welcome, despite the seemingly limiting storytelling device. Rated: 4/5 Oct 13, 2016 Full Review Kim Newman Screen International An extraordinarily clever - yet wickedly accessible - exercise in runaway metafiction ... Aug 24, 2016 Full Review Ray Pride Newcity Director's Cut is a spoof within a spoof within a spoof... or as Woody Allen once said in another context, "a mockery of a travesty of a sham." nick s It was a good attempt at doing something quirky and different. Certainly a lot of effort went into dressing up scenes. I just wasn't a fan of the narration style of presentation. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 12/30/23 Full Review Bill P Clever idea having a lunatic stalker recut a film to insert himself into the movie and the life of his obsession. The gag goes on a little too long perhaps but it's a good gag. Plus: I've seen Missi Pyle in dozens of things but didn't know her name. Now I'll never forget it! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/07/23 Full Review Audience Member I only give it 2 stars because Gilbert was in it. It could have been a great movie, but the whole, 'movie within a movie', thing just made this movie kind of crappy! Crowd funded or not, I would STILL ask for a refund! Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Captivating, funny and unique. Great film! I recommend! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member It is a funny concept, with some brilliant performances by Jillette and Pyle, but the joke goes on way too long. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member definitely ODD. iT'S A MOVIE WITHIN A MOVIE WITHIN A MOVIE. a MOVIE IS CROWDED FUNDED BUT WHILE IT'S BIGGEST SUPPORTER HAS A GREAT LOVE OF MOVIES, HE HAS NO APPTITUDE AND KEEPS WANTING TO CHANGE THE FILM.
