Like a Werther's Original dropped down a sewer drain, Dirty Grandpa represents the careless fumbling of a classic talent that once brought pleasure to millions.

Jesse Hassenger AV Club Incompetence combined with the occasional burst of disreputable laughter makes Dirty Grandpa oddly lively for a movie that's largely terrible. Rated: C- Sep 14, 2018 Full Review Jason Bailey Flavorwire Equal parts bad and baffling, it seems to have been written and directed by alien life forms who read YouTube comment sections for a week and drew these conclusions about human behavior. Jul 23, 2016 Full Review Liz Braun Toronto Sun This is a movie that desperately wants to be a raunchy, politically incorrect, gross-out comedy. It gets as far as desperate. Feb 4, 2016 Full Review Olly Richards NME (New Musical Express) The premise has potential, but the execution is painfully unfunny. Anonymous F Robert de Niro and Zac Efron did excellent! Obviously people don't know what comedy is and don't have any sense of humor. Robert de Niro did extraordinary and dirty Grandpa! Should have got a sequel. Everyone that has negative comments should just watch (Law & Order). And reflect on yourself. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/07/24 Full Review stephen b Just look for laughs and nothing more, and it's a decent watch. Reminds me of a Farrelly Brothers movie, Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/27/24 Full Review Larry H Rubbish. I would give it zero stars if that were an option. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 06/19/24 Full Review Test T I watched this on DVD recently. I have very mixed feelings about this movie, and especially the way it ends. I thought it started quite well, building on the solid foundation if reviving a relationship between an elderly widower (Dick) and his grandson (Jason) who had drifted apart during their lives. It makes sense that Dick wants to make the most of the life he has left, and the contrast between him and Jason is fun to watch at first. The problem for me was that Dick becomes quite obsessed about making love to the much younger college girl they meet, which takes over the rest of the story. I expected Dick to find a deeper meaning to his life via his time spent with Jason, but he doesn't. I found the ending very strange and rather uncomfortable to watch. If the movie was designed to challenge age stereotypes it succeeds, but in a way that I found unpleasant and disagreeable. I don't recommend this movie because it made me feel uncomfortable and dirty. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 04/18/24 Full Review Breezy B It had its moments..... Rated 1 out of 5 stars 04/15/24 Full Review AUGUSTUS C pretty funny! but just a little too long, if it was cut down a bit, it'd be perfect!
