m w I could not even finish it. The acting is bad from the beginning. The plot has the potential to actually be terrifying. But it fails miserably. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/18/24 Full Review inta k it was kinda okay. lightly weird storyline Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 04/15/24 Full Review Team S Little chaotic but likes it at the end Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/14/24 Full Review Lloyd S Confusing, but could be a great movie if written well and put some effort. The idea isn't that bad at all, just the production was. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/26/24 Full Review Gorilla S General gist of the plot easy to figure out within the first 5 minutes but despite this does start with some promise. We get the usual stereotypical characters to help carry the story with each given a backstory that's told to us through bizarre flashback scenes. The more minutes that pass by in this film the more confusing the story itself starts to become. There's a plethora of what I can only assume are meant to be ‘subtle' hints to what is going on (but by this point you've already guessed anyway) but this only adds to the confusion - I may have read the dialogue wrong but it seemed we were being alluded to limbo offering the characters a second chance at life rather than accepting death, and this is further alluded to when we see the supporting character's death certificates being produced after they are pulled away through the underground ‘exit' but it later turns out that in fact they were already dead anyway and were just in between hell and heaven. There's a child in the story whose entire existence seems to have no purpose to the story. The writing is poor, the plot nowhere to be found and the acting questionable. Wouldn't recommend if you value your time. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/14/24 Full Review crystal t Is there an option for a negative star? Randy Myers San Jose Mercury News This is risible shot-on-the-cheap junk that can’t even thread together its plot strands in any fashionable, intriguing way. Rated: 1/4 Feb 8, 2023 Full Review Wade Major FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles) They said "Let's make the lowest-budget-possible Jonathan Rhys Meyers horror film." Mar 3, 2023 Full Review Martin Carr We Got This Covered Audiences are in low-key hot mess territory with this disappointing mashup. With badly-lit hospital corridors, possessed elderly patients, and a nonsensical plot which would work better in The Twilight Zone, 'Disquiet' is best avoided. Rated: 2.5/5 Feb 23, 2023 Full Review Alexander Harrison Screen Rant Disquiet is structured like a puzzle film, with the viewer encouraged to piece together the mystery of Sam's limbo. This doesn't work in its favor. Rated: 1.5/5 Feb 11, 2023 Full Review Julian Roman MovieWeb Disquiet loses its grip as the plot progresses. Several well-placed first-act scares succeed in getting your adrenaline pumping. The fear factor then wanes considerably with an odd mix of flashback scenes and strange character interactions. Rated: 2/5 Feb 9, 2023 Full Review Casey Chong Casey's Movie Mania Disquiet does have the potential of becoming a cult classic of a B-horror movie. That is if only [Michael] Winnick doesn’t end up with underwritten characters that tend to have awkward, yet unintentionally laughable dialogues and by-the-numbers scares.
