"Disturbia" definitely feels like a thriller made in 2007 in more ways than one. In that regard, it can feel like a trip down memory lane in a lot of ways. I feel like the movie has enough tension and intrigue to make it worthwhile. I do feel the payoff of the movie is pretty lackluster and the reveals were not that exciting to me, but I had enough fun while watching it. I have always considered Shia LaBeouf a solid actor and even when the script gets iffy, I think his performance is pretty good here. Overall, it is a decent thriller and while it doesn't revolutionize the genre, I enjoyed enough of it to say it was fine to watch once.

What starts as a fairly interesting premise quickly deteriorates into a poor man's PG-13 hitchhiker remake, albeit without the real chills, violence or thrills. You could have fallen asleep for the last 45 mins, woken up and still have guessed the ending. 2.5/5
