Ralph R Disturbia is a modern thriller that captures the essence of suspense through a clever blend of drama, tension, and relatable characters. The film introduces us to Kale, played by Shia LaBeouf, a teenager under house arrest who finds unexpected ways to pass the time. His curiosity about the lives of his neighbors quickly escalates into something far more gripping. The movie's strong setup in the first act establishes both the stakes and Kale's emotional depth, making the story feel grounded despite its escalating tension. David Morse's performance as a mysterious neighbor is one of the film's highlights, delivering an understated but chilling presence that keeps the audience guessing. The cast as a whole is well-chosen, with Sarah Roemer and Carrie-Anne Moss rounding out the ensemble in complementary roles. One of the more thought-provoking aspects of the film is how it toes the line between innocent curiosity and intrusive stalking, making you question Kale's actions as well as your own perspective as a viewer. This layered tension adds depth to the experience, even as the story transitions into its action-packed third act. What sets Disturbia apart is its ability to combine an intimate, character-driven story with moments of real suspense. The film may flirt with familiar tropes, but it does so with enough charm and style to stand out. With a solid script, strong performances, and a touch of modern flair, Disturbia is an engaging thriller that's well worth revisiting for fans of suspenseful storytelling. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/09/25 Full Review Samuel W A thriller that threatens the audience with horror time and time again in a genius way. An alright movie was complimented with an outrageously good cast fronted by the talented Shia LaBeouf. The movie is about a kid who is confined within his own home due to house arrest and suspects his neighbor is an infamous Texan serial killer. There are plenty of fun, smart moments, as well as tense and piquing-your-curiosity moments. With an action-packed third act that satisfies all with their direction, and many moments that resemble that of a horror movie, this made for an uncomfortable, yet enjoyable, watch. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/01/25 Full Review Joseph G Still one of the best movies of all time! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/29/24 Full Review Leaburn O It’s a really well made teen horror flick with nicely built up romance and genuine scary scenes. About as well done as these films can be. Obviously silly in places but I was on edge with the suspense. Watched on DVD. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/25/24 Full Review ur mum I loved it, but the ending made no sense at all. Like how tf is this kid just joking around having fun, when he literally just killed a man and was soaked in bodily fluids??? Literally no PTSD from this experience, but he did from the car crash. Other then the shitty ending it was pretty good Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/11/24 Full Review Jonathan O Is rear window meets the stepfather for teens and is a well made teen thriller and Shia's performance was great and if you watched very closely you can feel an echo to Shia's transformers.
