Carlos C Incredible and dramatic real history. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 05/16/23 Full Review Daniel G Sincere portrayal of sexual abuse on the Mexican national diving squad. What an impactful and smart protest by the main protagonist! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/15/23 Full Review Michael W This sports movie was great. Karla Souza, Hernan Mendoza, Deja Ebergenyi, and the rest of the cast did a great job in this movie. This true story about complex relationships on an Olympic Diving team during a scandal was dramatic, depressing, and sad. It's a really dark story about doing what is right no matter evil it is. If you're a Amazon Prime member, you should watch this movie sometime. It's worth watching. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/16/23 Full Review Shock Therapy R The story is well written but leaves major gaps of opportunity. The patriarchy still wins and all of its inherent corruption. No we cannot change the real life story, but we can pick ones that actively hunt down the abusers in process rather than after the fact. The movie does depict a profoundly sad state of affairs both in sport and in life. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/12/23 Full Review Monica T Everybody must see it! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Valerie F Extremely well done, authentic movie showcasing modern Mexican culture against a backdrop of the Olympics and child sexual abuse. Fantastic acting, directing, music and cinematography. A real jewel. I watched it on Amazon in Spanish and with Spanish subtitles to help me with the occasional vocabulary word. I have no interest in the subject matters yet found it compelling and interesting. Not for children due to graphic sexual scenes. [Full review in Spanish] Nov 16, 2022 Full Review Diego Batlle Otroscines.com Lucía Puenzo's directorial hand and Karla Souza's performance maintain austerity through the story, developing with subtlety and nuance the trajectory of an athlete who has to survive a blatantly toxic and machismo-plagued field.
