Jeffrey M. Anderson Combustible Celluloid To be perfectly honest, I couldn't really follow this convoluted Hong Kong action film. Apr 6, 2007 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member The look is good, the acting decent and there's a few cool scenes... but Divergence is way too convoluted for it's otherwise pretty simple story. There is just too many silly pointless things happening in this film and too many out of order or random scenes to make sense out of this film. Not recommended viewing as there are plenty of better films out there. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member I watched it twice just in case I missed something. Truth is, I did. And so did everyone one else who has watched this movie. I think director Benny Chan forgot to add more to the story. The ending was very confusing and a bit irritating. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Amazing film. Fast paced, whip-smart and completely unexpected. This film requires you to keep your brain on. (In other words, not really a lazy afternoon time-filler). One of the best Cantonese thriller in years. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member A cop drama with a few good action scenes. Good directing, nice opening credits, but ultimately not very interesting. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member An ok thriller from Hong Kong. The story is a bit messy and it really could have done with a bit more excitement and action, but it passes the time well enough. Could have been a lot better though. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member A chinese thriller about how the divergence paths of seemingly unrelated individuals hitman, policeman, mafia businessman, mafia lawyer intersect and some crimes and tragedy happen.
