Audience Member Good songs, dodgy story and hopelessly dated. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Never released on video due to its subject matter (minstrelsy), this Paramount musical was a big hit in 1943; purportedly the life of songwriter Dan Emmett, the film includes many of his hit songs along with an original song which became a smash hit single for Crosby: "Sunday, Monday or Always."
