So I thought the dark themes and incidents were rally realistic and the whole movie was very emotional. But although the footage seems very true to real life happenings it's a little too much in some parts. This includes the sa scene being very good at makings one's stomach churn. It was not one of my favorite but it isn't bad. I wish there were more plot/dialogue to balance what was rough to watch in some spots. This movie isn't for those who get sick easily.

A pretty decent look inside the juvenile institution system. The actors all did well and the film has an overall realistic feel to it. The filmmaking reflects the environment with raw shooting and clinical lighting, but at the same time never gets in the way of the story.

In this obvious US remake of the classic Brit borstal flick "Scum", Kim Chapiiron directs a hard hitting if watered down & far less brutal version of the horrors faced inside a young offenders institution, with inmates battling for supremacy.
