Rated 4/5 Stars •  Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member A surprisingly entertaining and occasionally unsettling invasion film along the lines of The Purge and The Strangers, Don't Let Them In might have its share of irritating moments and leaps in logic, but it usually accomplishes what it sets out to do. You could certainly do a lot worse when it comes to this kind of concept, and the small cast make effective usage of the limited sets and claustrophobic environments. The supernatural elements don't a make a lot of sense, and I think if they wanted to go all the way with the premise it would have been more effective as a TV mini-series. But the films primary focus is on an increasingly dangerous situation that is always threatening to spiral out of control, and the scary moments work well because it feels like the film has earned them, and doesn't resort to lazy jump scares to catch you off guard. It's gone largely unnoticed and doesn't threaten the legacy of any other horror films I can think of, but for the relatively short time it was on screen, I was intrigued by the premise and invested in the scenario.
