murphey P Luna has a story worthy of being told. However, this documentary feels like a high schoolers final project. Perhaps the biggest failure was the lack of editing during interviews. One man says, ‘I can't be racist because I'm British.' Another person uses the term, "negroid," boldly and un-ironically with no historical context. Was her life not interesting enough that you had to resort to postulating a conspiracy behind her death? This was like an episode of Documentary Now. I love documentaries, but this one is so lazy it's honestly insulting. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/20/23 Full Review Melanie S Riveting, as her story was lost until now. Dennis Harvey 48 Hills If Supermodel grows sentimental and murky towards the end, as too many figures try to second-guess what was going on in doomed Luna’s mind, it nonetheless never fails to intrigue. Oct 3, 2023 Full Review Anne Brodie What She Said The story of the short, brilliant career of the first Black supermodel is told, and what a story! Rich, intensely visual, sad, and beautifully executed by Nailah Jefferson. Rated: 3/4 Sep 15, 2023 Full Review Carla Hay Culture Mix It's a riveting and well-rounded biography about a trailblazing model who never became a household name but whose impact and influence resonate for generations after her untimely passing. This documentary also explores generational trauma and pop culture. Sep 13, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews
