Anton Bitel Little White Lies it is in all its bizarre little details that you can see Doom Asylum straining to escape its own conventions with relative integrity. Jul 16, 2018 Full Review Mike Massie Gone With The Twins The only redeemable elements here are the gore and makeup effects, which possess a certain low-budget amusement. Rated: 1/10 Sep 6, 2020 Full Review James Evans Starburst This reviewer found it tiresome and eventually irritating but, and this really is the key here, other viewers will find it all a hoot. stevie S B movie comedy horror. Tongue in cheek throughout. Great fun. Kristin Davis in a swimsuit 😂. Keep an eye out for the rock music references which are written all over the walls of the dooooooom asssyluuuummm! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 09/13/23 Full Review tom s First, you have to know what you're getting into... A low budget, terribly acted slasher film, set only in the daytime due to budgetary concerns, with stereotypical (and by today's standards, somewhat offensive) characters. What you get is about 90 minutes of complete cheese. Some of the moments of dialogue will make you wonder if you just heard that right and cause you to laugh. "Darnell's going to show you the meaning of God." At no point will you feel any fear, dread, terror, suspense or anything you might expect with a slasher film. This feels almost like a parody, and if you go in with that mindset, you may come out enjoying this hammy movie as much as I did. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member "Malcom X would disown you." Two doctors attempt to perform an autopsy on a car crash victim who was still living. He seems compelled to live because of his true love, who he cannot accept died in the drunken car wreck, so he murders the physicians. Years after this mishap he resides in the now abandoned hospital where the flubbed post-mortem happened, tormenting and killing any unfortunate enough to visit its grounds. A proto-Pussy Riot called Tina and the Tots practice at the hospital, which they've graffitied all up (Suicidal Tendencies and Slayer were the better artists were written on the walls). Upset that some preppies picnic at the hospital, the punk band pee-balloon the rich kids. Fortunately the deformed necropsy victim dispenses of them with medical tools, but unfortunately we first have to hear the group perform their "music" (I later learnt the "song" playing was actually by the band Psychodrama, from an '83 compilation LP which featured among others, GG Allin). The comedic tone was great as was the makeup and other effects; the interstitials from b&w Tod Slaughter films were an odd choice, but worked for the most part. I love that I can still find fantastic '80s horror-comedies that are yet new-to-me! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member horror/comedy movie that actually succeeds in creating a dark atmosphere that successfully integrates cheesy humor. loads better than the overrated blood diner. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member Splatter film was touted as a "horror comedy," but is neither funny nor scary. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member A deliciously tongue-in-cheek 80's horror slasher schlockfest--A fun splatter movie on a budget!!
