      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

Duplicity is well-crafted, smart, and often funny, but it's mostly more cerebral than visceral and features far too many plot twists.

Kyle M Don't expect this as your average espionage in linear sense. Its impressively-crafted structure refines non-linear narrative to the point of stretching it thin in declining momentous strength with maintained intelligence intentionally weaving behind the choices made for differential significance. That's secondarily entertaining behind Clive Owen and Julia Robert's electric chemistry participating through unexpected turns in debatably weighed satisfaction. (B) Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/14/24 Full Review Andre G Kind of a dumb movie. They were trying to commit espionage but failed. Even if it worked it was still a boring movie with no results. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 07/10/23 Full Review Rosana B Muito bom… Excelente... Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Michelle S well thank god for paul giamanni (sp) every computer generated statement about love and selfishness and money and greed is in this film. my eyes almost got stuck from rolling them so hard this was like fight club and if you guess the beginning - spoilers - the movies is terrible. in the first 5 min i said there is no invention and the rest was like watching golf. What's remarkable is that both movies pretty much work. Rated: B+ Aug 14, 2009 Full Review James Berardinelli ReelViews When it comes to spy thrillers, Tony Gilroy knows the game. Rated: 3/4 Apr 30, 2009 Full Review Brian Eggert Deep Focus Review That Gilroy refuses to limit the story to just one focus in desire for something more intricate makes his film complex while also being a light, entertaining treat. Rated: 4/10 Nov 28, 2020 Full Review Jason Best Movie Talk Duplicity revisits the world of corporate skulduggery Gilroy explored in Michael Clayton, and throws in a spot of Bourne spycraft, but its mood is far far lighter than those films' sweaty intensity and muscular action.
