As far as British indie films go, there are certainly funnier out there with a whole lot more creativity, but for anyone looking for a feel-good adventure to keep the family entertained on a rainy afternoon, they can't go wrong with Dusty & Me.

Beautifully staged in a 1970s northern town (apart from the Del Monte fruit cocktail which has far too many of those pink cherries), this is a sweet movie about a slightly misfit teen and his dog that won't raise any hackles except on a cat.

A bit of lighthearted nostalgia with plenty of feelgood, it gets more enjoyable as it goes on with some of the characters finding a surprise for you, especially the trainer. It shows here's a kind heart for within most, especially where animals are involved, and just how lovely the greyhound is a breed
