By echoing the atomic fears within the post-war society, Sekizawa avoids Ebirah merely being a reworked copy of his previous narratives. Go to Full Review

A lot of people put this one on the low-end of the series, but I have fun with it. Go to Full Review

Godzilla vs. the Sea Monster is... not so great. It feels small and trifling and, well, a bit dumb. Go to Full Review
Tina Hassannia Not Coming to a Theater Near You 05/14/2019
Exemplifies the peak of the Godzilla franchise's tonal shift into campy, fun territory, a phenomenon that reflected the series' absorption of 1960s Western pop-culture influences. Go to Full Review

5/10
A decent film at best, a flimsy and uninvolving film at worst, and a discouraging sign that the days of Godzilla as a serious, interesting threat were now officially dead and buried. Go to Full Review

This is one of the silliest but also one of the more amusing Godzilla movies. Go to Full Review

Conor S 13h Easily a top 2 worst Godzilla movie. Ebirah, Mothra, and Godzilla are all lame along with the story. See more Khaliel P Aug 18 Despite the poor quality of the previous entry, Toho pressed on with a new Godzilla film, essentially recycling a King Kong script by replacing the ape with Godzilla. The story follows Ryota and three companions as they search for his missing brother, inadvertently reaching Letchi Island, home to the terrorist Red Bamboo and the giant lobster Ebirah. Godzilla barely appears, often sleeping or watching the chaos, while the human characters remain flat and unconvincing. Effects are low-budget, with unremarkable monster designs, actors in costumes, and visible miniatures. Absurd moments, like Godzilla playing volleyball with Ebirah, highlight the film’s B-to-Z movie quality. Although the kaiju are largely absent and the plot messy, the sheer ridiculousness gives the film a certain comedic charm. See more josh d 06/09/2024 Bad opponents for Godzilla, but the plot isn’t terrible See more Rich A 04/22/2024 Spoilers fantastic now watching it years later it makes sense this was going to be a King Kong movie right after King Kong vs Godzilla and based loosely off the King Kong Show! See more Chanr3y k 04/15/2024 The movie has such a weird bond movie feeling to it, It's honestly got some interesting characters, and the plot is always moving, the unfortunate part about the movie is that it is so boring. See more Irelia I 04/03/2024 fun BUT it is still pretty bad See more Read all reviews
