this movie is absolute trash. now, i love the fact that its a movie about lesbians, lots of representation. its the fact that I don't understand what the movie is about in general or what the meaning of the movie is. ill explain it the best I can: 2 ex-wives cross paths because one is a model named elenore, and the other one, a photographer named dee. they fuck the same night they crossed paths, and then it goes into a spiral of memories that they used to have while married, including, like, 5 sex scenes. after the memories are over, it cuts to dee with her brother, talking about elenore and where she is staying. elenore is staying with an old friend of hers that she and dee met while married. it cuts to elenore fucking with some guy that we can only assume is the friend. the friend, after they fuck, says that elenore has soft skin, elenore says that she is a girl, after all, and then the friend goes to say that his wife is a girl, which can only lead us to assume that elenore has a new husband. but after that scene, it cuts to one of dee and elenore back together once again, which is something that has become a habit, seeing each other and fucking each other, and dee asks elenore to stay with her. elenore then continues to say that she cant because she loves her, that being someone who is not dee, but it cant be the friend either since its a guy, which confuses me even more. they then fuck ONCE AGAIN and then it shows a scene of them in a bathtub talking about love, and how dee fell in love third, whatever that means, and how elenore thinks you can just fall in love on the first try. they then fuck once more, leaving only 6 minutes left in the movie. at the end, with only 3 minutes left (yes they fucked for the time being) it shows dee going through all the photos she took of elenore when they did the photoshoot at the beginning of the movie, and elenore comes into the frame and says that next time, she wants to be the photographer. it then cuts to elenore looking into the camera as though it was a photoshoot in front of a blank, white wall, and the movie ends,
its not a movie i fully understand yet, and i don't think i ever will. they spent half of the movie fucking (no offense if i seem homophobic saying this, I'm gay myself, i just thought there was gonna be more meaning to the movie other than fucking) it seems like elenore was just cheating on people and manipulating dee. if someone understands this movie, please explain it to me, cause i don't.
in my opinion, i like to watch movies with a deeper meaning to it. something emotional, ex-wives are emotional, fucking constantly is not. i also hate that the movie was black in white. i love it when older movies are in black and white, but when a more modern movie that LITERALLY HAD SCENES THAT WERE IN COLOR it gets kind of boring. though i think i understand why they did it. i think it explains a darker time for them. in color, they were in love and married. as happy as ever. but in black and white, they are separated, fucking with no strings attached. it seems sadder.
