Rated: 4/5 Dec 10, 2014 Full Review Joe Morgenstern Wall Street Journal Like the Cinderella figure she plays in Disney's Enchanted, Amy Adams spreads a contagion of delight. The movie is great fun, but she's enchanting. Nov 26, 2013 Full Review Grant Watson Fiction Machine The film may be 17 years old, but with Disney continuing to follow its decades-long formula it is as if Enchanted‘s jokes are never going to date. Rated: 4/5 Nov 11, 2021 Full Review Sean Collier Box Office Prophets It's a feast of references and gentle self-deprecation for Disney fans, a pleasant if uninventive romcom and an altogether nice time at the movies. judy b One of my all time favorites! Amy Adams is delightful as the lost little princess who steps from a cartoon world into modern times. She is looking for her Prince to marry. In the cartoon she falls into a well and pops up from a manhole in New York. At that point the whole movie becomes live action. Other cartoon characters follow and they remain in their costumes and run around the city and no one seems to care or notice them in their Renaissance clothing. Hey, it’s NYC! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/26/25 Full Review Audience Member Enchanted is amazing, I really enjoy the movie bc is like a typical princess who lives is a fairly tale where everything is perfect. One day she felt in love and when she was about to get married with her prince charming, she felt off and wake up in a different place where happy ending are not common. I think is a good film to have a good time with your family. One thing that I loved is the soundtrack and the cute little squirrel who makes the film funny. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 11/20/25 Full Review Zema K Enchanted is a charming, clever twist on classic Disney fairy tales. Amy Adams shines as Giselle, blending animated innocence with real-world heart. With catchy songs and playful satire, it’s a magical mix of romance, humor, and self-aware fantasy that’s both sweet and smart. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/12/25 Full Review Audience Member Although the film contains some amusing jokes and flirts with the audience, with one of the Evil Queen's lines practically breaking the fourth wall, and is a kind of silly semi-parody, in the end it is carried by Amy Adams's brilliant performance. This is probably her best role that I have seen. It takes a lot of effort to play (parody) a Disney princess so naturally. Her character seems more alive and canonical than the cartoons themselves. Judging by their interviews, various actors and actresses value their dramatic roles more, but in my opinion, one should not be cynical about such performances. They contain a lot of warmth, love and charm. I repeat — Amy Adams is simply incredible. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 11/06/25 Full Review Sarah M. My favorite childhood film. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/26/25 Full Review Blu B A Fantasy Classic. It's such a clever fresh take on the tired cliche tropes of the Romcom and Fantasy adventure genres. Flip it on it's head by setting these stroybook characters in a fish out of water scenario. Brilliant. Everything here is really well done. The setting of NYC is great with great direction to boot. The humor is really good too and gets quite a few chuckles, solid laughs, and adds to the charm this film has. I give so much credit to Adams. So many actresses would've done a tounge in cheek performance or seen something like this as just a paycheck or not taken it seriously because it's a kids movie. She doesn't have a single jaded bone in her body in this and gives nothing but sincerity the entire time. It's such a committed performance and she is the best thing in it. The music numbers do pop but aren't that catchy on their own. The animation in the start is quite good but it can feel rushed with everything to setup the main story in NYC. It also can feel like two different films in the middle at times. One following Adams & Dempsey which is probably the stronger of the two. And the otherthe Prince and the Evil Witch trying to find Adams. It all does come together well adn perfectly followable. The villian is good too and the CGI is surpisingly really well done and looks great. It's not dumbed down for kids either. There's something here for everyone of all ages. Anyone who is a fan of any actors here, the director, fantasy flicks, romcoms, or family movies should check this out. Truly a modern classic that belongs with the best of Disney's Live Action flicks. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 10/21/25 Full Review Read all reviews
