Amusingly awful pretentiousness - intentional - certainly uncompromising ,relentless. "The hunger of the absolute" "Sunsets do not make me feel the pain of adolescence" Sound design Erratic volume, unmatched dubbed sound, use of inappropriate music as parody, screaming. Scenes: Hard to follow, frustrating somewhat tedious but with some classic moments I didn't like: the ghastly sex-dancing - maybe cultural or of that time? Or was it to challenge audience Greasy Liberal Politician, not a convincing performance The main poet/hero - macho - a bit of a twat. I liked: B&W The lady - looked realistic/everyday Trippy jump cuts

Glauber Rocha elabora um retrato singular a respeito do drama do latino-americano, que, como simbolizado no quadro final, sofre com as dicotomias e limitações de seu país e de seu espírito colonizado, mas ainda se mantém de pé - e não importe o quanto ele esteja cambaleante e perdido, impotente e ardente, ele jamais cairá. GENIAL! Me apaixonei por esse filme, e é MUITO Godard (o Godard dos melhores filmes, de desilusão política total). Os joguinhos de poder, os complôs, a corrupção, e a desilusão que isso tudo gera em pessoas que costumavam ter esperanças e achavam que seu voto servia pra alguma coisa.
