Tomris Laffly Variety "Equal Standard" sadly exhibits a consistent lack of restraint while the story widens its scope and stakes, falling notably short of its well-intentioned ambitions to honor multiple viewpoints amid rising racial tensions. May 7, 2021 Full Review Liam Lacey Original Cin Poorly paced and awkwardly written, Equal Standard brings little value to the issue of racism and the law. Jun 4, 2021 Full Review Sandie Angulo Chen Common Sense Media Relevant themes and Truvillion's stand-out performance rescue this drama from preachy dialogue and oversimplification of the tensions between Black communities and law enforcement. Rated: 3/5 May 19, 2021 Full Review Abbie Bernstein Assignment X Director Brendan Kyle Cochrane gets a lot out of the New York environments, and goes with a naturalistic approach to the material. Facebook U Excellent movie that throughly depicted the hard truth regarding racial relations and the tension that exist between the Police and the Black community. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/10/21 Full Review Jan C I found this to be one of the best reasons to help combat police brutality. I think this could be a good starting point for open, raw, and honest dialogue about integrity, accountability, and human nature. There is, and always will be, our side and their side. Somewhere in the middle is the truth. While I could've totally done without the excessive use of f-bombs and n-words, it didn't take away from the intent and message. I thought they'd show more about the children in the movie. Good job overall. I recommend this. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/09/24 Full Review Meghan J It has a good story and has potential to be an excellent movie if it had a better cast some of the actors seem like they're amateurs. Otherwise it could've been a good movie. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 06/24/23 Full Review jizzy b Excellent! There is nothing bad I've found in this movie. It`s relevance goes without words but the way is it put together is an attempt that many have tried. This movie delivers. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/13/21 Full Review Audience Member Pretty Decent movie. One of the best Cop movies I've seen in a while. Acting could of been better but it was a decent movie.
