A surprisingly imaginative movie that properly trains the eyes on the thing that’s beating, instead of on the beat all alone. Another way of putting it would be that people are front and center, not fodder for a tale ripped from headlines. Go to Full Review

Better than most coronavirus-inspired tales, even if it’s catching only the tail-end of our cultural obsession with the pandemic. Go to Full Review

Eradication is a pretty decent and watchable pandemic thriller that uses its slow burn to insinuate that people are only as good as the circumstance they are put into. Go to Full Review

(ENGLISH) Sometimes the worst thing that can happen to a film isn’t being a total disaster, but ending up stuck in the middle of nowhere. That’s exactly what happens with Eradication. The premise sounds promising: a deadly pandemic, a protagonist isolated in the mountains, and the idea that his blood might hold the key to saving humanity. On paper, it could have worked as a tense, claustrophobic thriller full of suspense. The problem is that the execution never lives up to the concept. The low budget weighs heavily, and what in other films becomes creativity here feels like limitation. The script drags scenes without adding anything new, and the pacing falls into tedious loops. Very quickly the viewer guesses where things are heading and loses interest before the ending arrives. The cinematography offers some interesting touches —like the striking image of the yellow containment suit in the forest— and there’s a clear effort to elevate the visuals. But when the script is weak, there’s little that can truly save the experience. The characters don’t help either: flat, underdeveloped, and with a protagonist who simply cannot carry the weight of the story. In a genre as saturated as pandemic and infection movies, Eradication doesn’t bring anything new or manage to hold up what little it proposes. It ends up halfway in everything: not intense enough, not exciting enough, and not coherent enough to hook you in. A failed attempt that, aside from a few technical details, is as forgettable as it is fleeting. See more Nov 15 I'll save you two hours. Slow movie about a dumb man who is one of the last people left on Earth who hasn't been infected by a zombie/vampire virus. He is being kept alive to be used as a blood bank by his infected wife and the remaining infected members of a US government extermination program. By the end the moron managed to get his wife and himself dead, find another uninfected survivor, and lure him in to replace him as their blood bank. There is no cure. The only thing keeping any of the infected from turning completely into mindless monsters is uninfected blood which ironically is the only thing that made him special. The mystery it sets up is decent at first but it just ends up going in a different direction that ends up nowhere. See more @emill_santos Feb 3 Sayang oras. See below after my review. It's trying to be a new age deep movie I think with some hidden meaning. It's actually a pointless movie with zero story. It has some good set up, ambiance, music is good with some good effects and cinematography. Other than that there is nothing and it's completely naff. See this guys review below for those that won't claw anything at all out of it which will be the majority of people. It's a shame because it's such a wasted opportunity. It's like being thirsty for a drink and instead of pouring a glass of water you set a sponge into a bowl and wring it out across multiple bowels just for a small mouthful. Pointless..... utterly pointless and a waste. The other guys review which will be accurate for the majority of people watching this: "You get to listen to an egg timer for an hour and a half Thats it". "A man in a house in a forest". "Something about a virus". "Then just an egg timer for the rest of the film going off every minute or two". "Atrociously bad". "Stay away at all costs". "The only way it could be worse if it was a baby crying for the rest of the film instead of the egg timer". "If it was any slower paced it would have been dead on arrival. If it was any more pointless it would be a beach ball". "Someone should have slapped the director/writer in the face early on". "Who would want to listen to an egg timer go off every minute for an hour and a half?" "Its incredible. So bad its unbelievable, might go down in history as the next 'The Room' - but far far more annoying." See more Read all reviews
