Malcolm McDowell is haunting as the title character, a communist former schoolteacher who was fired for a horribly inappropriate encounter with a young student. He then turns to being an unrepentant cannibalistic serial killer. Disturbing story based on the true crimes of A.R. Chikatilo whose exploits terrorized the Soviet Union. Worth watching for McDowell's performance alone.

É triste ver um ator tão bom em um filme tão ruim. "Evilenko" traz Malcolm McDowell em uma boa interpretação sobre um macabro e pedófilo serial-killer chamado Evilenko, famoso por "jantar" crianças. Infelizmente, o filme sofre com um roteiro da pior qualidade, trazendo falas ridículas - "Não chore. Vadias não choram."- e cenas grotescas e absurdas - impressionante como conseguem botar uma garota de uns dez anos de idade abrindo as pernas para um menino - que deixam o filme mais terrível ainda do que ele já era. Quase todas as atuações (Malcolm se salva) são extremamente forçadas e estúpidas. A direção é terrível e a edição não se salva também.
