Critics Consensus

Extraterrestial does deliver a certain amount of gory genre thrills, but they're outweighed by the crushing clichés of its sagging script.

Candice Frederick Reel Talk Online ... you can pretty much figure out what will happen mere minutes into the film. Where's the suspense in that? Rated: F Sep 2, 2017 Full Review Anton Bitel Sight & Sound self-consciously trashy, trope-happy inanity that is relentlessly entertaining and rather forgettable - as though the viewer too has been subjected to an alien mind-wipe. Jan 2, 2015 Full Review Kevin Maher Times (UK) There's nothing at all original, engaging, stimulating or thought-provoking (for all of these, see Invasion of the Body Snatchers) within its frames. Shakespere Z "Well..if you are a lover of Sci Fi horror type of thrills and jump scares..and or you have a completely open mind about whether or not we are truly 'Not Alone' in the universe vast and strange..and creepy aliens & monster menacing Unidentified Flying Objects piloted by Otherworldly Beings..ones that abduct humans and experiment on animals and such terrifying things..then kids..you should probably enjoy this little SciFi Horror flick. The film rolls along at a pleasant spooky pace, has some reasonably good acting by the young protagonists and the veterans who play the characters in this moody dark little frightner..and, it has a story plot that could almost be taken right out of the pages of Alien Human Abduction biographies of the real life Abduction of Travis Walton (Fire in The Sky ) or from the seminal greys encounter of Communion and many more such haunting true life extraterrestrial encounters of the Fourth Kind..I truly recommend a viewing of this Frightmare..enjoyingly watched on a stormy night or Halloween, with some tasty munchies & fave drinks, even a cup of cocoa..or just a evening of Fright Fest Fun with the mates, the kids, and or on your by yerself with the pets Lonesome Onesome. And the veteran actors should be very familiar to fans of this type of SciFi Horror spook flicker,I won't name them here,I'll leave the nice surprises for your watch pleasure Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/25 Full Review Markus L Honestly better than expected Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/13/25 Full Review Orlando C I only watched this because I've thoroughly enjoyed everything Colin Minihan has directed/written. And I love me some Brittany Allen ❤️ 🤩 . But yeah, it's terrible. If you've been on a Colin Minihan kick, this is the one you don't need to watch. Did it for ya 😉. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/12/25 Full Review BigD J I found this movie to be more entertaining than I expected. I was anticipating a cheesy low budget flop, which the first two parts turned out as predicted. However, a flop it was not… kind of a cross between Communion, Fire in the Sky, and a future movie Nobody Will Save You all wrapped into one. Also kind of has some Evil Dead cabin vibes goin on. Sure, if you've see one abduction movie, you've seen em all. But this one was rather enjoyable and worth a watch. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/30/23 Full Review George P The music in the movie is 10x louder than it needs to be meaning I was constantly adjusting the volume of the movie for the first 30 minutes until I decided to just turn it off. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/18/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie could have been good if it didn't rip off about every alien abduction narrative out there. It's predictable, it's corny,, it's filled with cliches, the camera work is shoddy and worst of all, the acting is atrocious!!! I really had high hopes for this one, but it's really not worth anyone's time. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Read all reviews
