while it has solid special effects and some genuinely funny dark moments. This goes through the creature feature cliches but it doesn’t do them poorly but makes the film seem rather generic

Fun, minimalist, gritty, budget horror comedy. Don’t be expecting a blockbuster, it’s not intended to be one. It’s an enjoyable and gory watch. Plus it has Henry Rollins. I enjoyed it a lot.

Don’t get caught up in the “I only watch Oscar-Worthy films”. This is not that. It is not meant to be that. It is a simple movie made to create hilarity in its ridiculousness. Watch the movie for entertainment; not enlightenment. 4/5 because I found myself cracking up quite more than I thought I would. Delivery from some of the actors could have been better but hey, it’s low budget.
