John DeFore The Hollywood Reporter Unlike the recent release American Jesus... this film is sincere about letting its protagonists explain themselves. Sep 15, 2014 Full Review Richard Propes TheIndependentCritic.com The film toys with the concepts of masculinity and Christianity and how the two can possibly co-exist, but it really doesn't go anywhere with it all. Rated: 3.0/4.0 Sep 7, 2020 Full Review Andy Crump Paste Magazine The results never feel over-stuffed or undercooked; there's a balance here, and the film never tips too far one way or the other to upset its equilibrium. Rated: 8.1/10 Sep 25, 2014 Full Review Bill Gibron EntertainmentTell ... the faces behind the faith-based fisticuffs are as engaging as they are entertaining. Rated: 3.5/5 Sep 19, 2014 Full Review Dan Schindel Nonfics Fight Church is an interesting look at Christianity and masculinity in America today and how the two intersect. Rated: 3/5 Sep 15, 2014 Full Review Kevin Jagernauth The Playlist Storkel and Junge largely get it right, taking the viewer into a truly unique, and not oft-documented place, remaining observant of their subjects, but never critical. Audience Member Thoroughly enjoyed this insight into a different interpretation and expression of Christianity in America. Definitely an area that needed exploration and was done extremely well. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member ?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????...??????????????????????????????????????????????? ???????????????????????????????????????????????????????? Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Surprisingly even-handed, Fight Church examines a bizarre section of Christianity in an interesting way. Directors Bryan Storkel and Daniel Junge handle the subject in a way that is respectful to both sides of the argument, and give both parties time to explain their point of view. This is so refreshing for a "issue" documentary, especially one dealing with Christianity. Junge and Storkel don't seem to be trying to villify Christianity. Rather they only seem interested in correctly portraying the varying schools of thought within the church. I think its pretty clear what side of the argument Junge and Storkel fall on. However, that isn't the point of Fight Chuch. Fight Church is all about the people involved in this argument, rather than the argument itself. In that way, Fight Church is one of the best documentaries I've seen all year. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Read all reviews
