At a New York City boxing arena, the Bowery Boys are stunned when their friend, up-and-coming young boxer Jimmy Higgins (Bert Conway), is killed during his fight. Slip Mahoney (Leo Gorcey) and his best pal, Sach (Huntz Hall), track down Jimmy's older brother, Johnny (Frankie Darro), an alcoholic ex-boxer hounded by his past. With the gang's help, Johnny rediscovers his will to fight while attempting to take down crooked boxing manager Gabe Moreno (Gabriel Dell).
