Finestkind tells the story of two brothers (Ben Foster & Toby Wallace), raised in different worlds, who are reunited as adults over a fateful summer. Set against the backdrop of commercial fishing, the story takes on primal stakes when desperate circumstances force the brothers to strike a deal with a violent Boston crime gang. Along the way a young woman (Jenna Ortega) finds herself caught perilously in the middle. Sacrifices must be made and bonds between brothers, friends, lovers, and a father (Tommy Lee Jones) and his son are put to the ultimate test.

Foster is at his best in roles like this one, where his emotions are tightly coiled and always close to exploding, but the storyline does not give him much to work with and Wallace cannot make much out of a blandly-conceived role.

This movie was nice and heartwarming. It takes a total 180 turn from where you think it will go in the first half (not in a bad way). It’s a story about friendship and brotherhood with surprise twists and a good ending.

Literally sucked. The movie feels like a tale of two stories. The first half is completely different to the second and the characters start acting completely different. Such a waste of the great acting skills of good actors such as Jenna Ortega.

This movie will keep you guessing and wondering what will happen next. Jenna Ortega is seen in an awkward/badass role. However, entertaining. Foster gives a convincing performance as well as Tommy Lee Jones. There is one facet missing towards the end of the movie that isn't covered. Otherwise, I would have given it a 5 star rating.
