The Amazon rain forest is beautiful, the movie's message is beautiful, Sandra Bullock is beautiful, but the movie itself es no bueno. It meanders like the Amazon River and ends up lost somewhere in the jungle. I hope whoever invested in this movie at least got a tax write-off.

This Roger Corman joint has all the low budget downfalls you'd expect. Coming one year before Sandra Bullock's big rise to fame for her role in the film Speed, Fire on the Amazon is really known for one thing and one thing only, Sandra Bullock's "steamy" love scene. Without it, this eco-political thriller about the rain forests probably would have been forgotten long ago.
