This is probably one of the worst anime films I've seen that got a theatrical release in America. Go to Full Review

It's a treat to see a film about young love where the young lovers aren't wise beyond their years; instead, they're prone to making stupid mistakes out of inexperience and perfectly understandable fear. Go to Full Review

A strange little movie that attempts the tricky feat of combining comedy, drama, sci-fi and romance, but it doesn't get those individual elements right so it never coheres as a whole. Go to Full Review

"Fireworks" is a very entertaining anime that will put a smile on its audience through its simple but captivating romance and the surrealistic brush of the titular question. Go to Full Review

Akiyuki Shinbo's film (responsible for the anime of 'Yu Yu Hakusho', among others) works, especially on an aesthetic level, and if you forget about its irrelevance in other aspects. [Full Review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Psychopathic T 08/01/2024 erm what the sigma me no understand See more Midnight M 08/12/2023 Beautiful movie, i related to the characters as I was about the same age as them when I first watched it back in like 2018. Beautifully animated, love the songs and it's a must see for teens, if anyone's into sci Fi, teen romance and drama See more 04/11/2022 The animation was not appealing to the eye. The storyline was horrendous. The characters made this even worse. This is barely a 1-star coming from the good music and decent art style. See more 07/08/2021 Fireworks is beautiful anime film and good voice dub actors, but the story, the plot and the editing is a mess on this film. See more 02/23/2021 I read the manga just to understand 'THAT' ending. It has a beautiful OST yet the movie is badly executed. The visuals are beautiful except for some bad CGI mixed in the movie. I'm not sure if I would recommend it. See more 11/17/2020 2017 was such great year. Sadly, Fireworks didn't embody any of it. One of my biggest issues in story telling is when real world issues are solved by fictional things. Okay so the oversexualized child has a hard time at home, let's just reverse time and fix it. A relatable issue with a solution that isn't possible. Sadly the best scene in the film is when the main character (I can't bring myself to remember anyone's name) gets punched. I showed this to a group of my friends and it made them all laugh. Given that it was supposed to be a tragic scene, I knew at that point we had a real stinker here. *sigh* not even the animation is that great, at least not for 2017 standards. Man it's the best part of the movie and that's no better than a 3/5. My God I hate this movie. See more Read all reviews
