Technically it is outstanding, the score magnificent… but the story is so dark, so depressing that holds that feeling of hope and joy that a voyage into the space should bring. Mr. Chazelle giving us, as always, the dark side of blooming events.

Disappointing. The movie muted an amazing and exciting historical time. It marginalized the dedicated work thousands put into changing our relationship with space exploration forever by tailoring the movie to the "me" generation.

Big Meh. Boring and too long. Everything feels depressing with no real effort in trying to achieve accuracy. Lacks any exitement and awe that apollo 13 managed to portray. Felt as if armstrong was taken along for the ride and not partaking in it. Sound effect are horrendous. Spaceships all sound like a rusty fence gates.

This material is probably not the most appropriate for a director who was so brilliant making musicals ("La La Land") or music-related pictures ("Whiplash")...and so incredibly slow : in pacing it's very similar to Christopher Nolan's "Interstellar" and both films are too long. Hope Chazelle got back to form with "Babylon" (haven't seen it yet).

The cinematography in the film is fantastic and for his first film not about music, Chazelle gets the best score of any of his films from composer Justin Hurwitz, one that might just be my favorite score of the year so far
