I’ve Been a huge fan of FNaF for years now and I love this movie. It’s definitely better if you’re already familiar with FNaF. I do have some small nitpicks like some of the dialogue is a bit cringe and there are some unresolved plot lines that are definitely added to be resolved in sequels but outside of that it’s good.

This movie has everything for the fans of this beloved worldwide phenomenon of a video game franchise. When we watched this movie opening night, the crowd was insane from beginning to the very very end credits scene. I think this is the best video game movie of 2023. Josh hutcherson was great, Matthew lillard nailed it, and the practical effects from Jim hensons creature shop was possibly the best thing about the movie. Freddy, Bonnie, chica, foxy, and that no good cupcake stole the entire show. I wasn’t bored at all, I was invested the whole time. I hope we get more of these movies. Video game adaptations are no longer in the cursed department.

I played the game but unfamiliar with the lore. My kids are, and they loved this movie. As a causal fan I enjoyed this. It isnt Shakespeare, but a good time. Very little blood, more of "implied gore" off screen. Acting by Josh is excellent. If you are even are unfamiliar with the game or lore I think you will still enjoy.

Five Nights at Freddy’s had everything working in its favor. The film’s cast has a solid cinematic genealogy. Jim Henson Creature Shop assisted with animatronics. FNAF fandom waited in anticipation for years, continuing to world-build and create lore.
