Critics Consensus

Animation legend Genndy Tartakovsky cuts a little too loose with Fixed, an aggressively crude cartoon that might just scratch the itch for those who like their comedies frisky.

Randy Myers San Jose Mercury News Ideal vocal casting make this into the raunchiest comedy this summer that will zip up the streaming charts as fast as a dog running away from a snip-snip appointment. Rated: 3/4 Aug 14, 2025 Full Review Wilson Chapman IndieWire Just like the dog it’s about, “Fixed” has plenty of balls, but its big heart is what really matters. Rated: B Aug 13, 2025 Full Review David Fear Rolling Stone A wildly uneven, totally obvious, and often painfully unfunny 80 minutes. It’s enough to drive you nuts. Aug 13, 2025 Full Review Shawn Peer That Shelf Aside from its appealing animation style and the valiant effort from the voice cast, Fixed is not a film worth seeking out. Sep 6, 2025 Full Review Rohan Naahar The Indian Express Painfully unfunny, the train wreck of a movie feels interminable at even 80 minutes long; it’s crude, cringe, and filled with juvenile dialogue that makes you feel like you’re eavesdropping on a group of 12-year-old boys at the playground. Sep 1, 2025 Full Review Adam Hlavac Heroes Reforged (YouTube) I literally could not contain myself after those first fifteen minutes. It’s impossible. It’s so funny. r96 s 'Fixed' is, to barely any surprise (well, so I thought), utter tripe. It's somehow worse than 2023's 'Strays', which is the one impressive thing about this 2025 movie. These 'adult animated' films always fascinate me, like who the heck are they for? It's teenage humour for... grown adults?! Grossed out humour can exist, but I wished they'd stop stooping to the bottom of the barrel every single time... poop and sex gags, that's all they're capable of apparently - even when dogs are involved, evidently. Every inch of this film is just mind-numbingly stupid. Listen, I'm fully aware that I only have myself to blame. Despite knowing nothing major about it, the tiny knowledge I did hold made me know what I was about to watch. Yet I still chose to watch it, hoping one day one of these 'adult animated' releases will be worthwhile... Zero creativity here, proper lazy stuff. I simply cannot compute that people actually sat around and wrote this... they live amongst us, which is a scary thought! Those voices onscreen aren't much better, Idris Elba is the only one who is minorly OK (hearing him f-bomb is minimally amusing). You can have all this gross comedy, but at least surround it with a plot that's somewhat coherent and interesting; the gags should be part of the film, not it entirely. Lastly... gotta feel for Andrea Bocelli - they really be letting anyone use his music, huh? I've not checked how this has been received yet... surely not any better than from yours truly? checks y'all too kind. If you like this then fair enough, I guess. One of the worst movies I've seen, personally. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/07/25 Full Review Aiden B A weird movie to say the least, but there is also something charming about it. Im not a huge fan of comedy and the sexual innuendos get old after a while, but I really appreciated the visual style. Wish more films would go back to traditional animation. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 08/30/25 Full Review Caleb T The plot makes no sense for like half the movie. Honey was literally propositioning bull and bull didnt know if she liked him. It was really stupid. Also they try to make it seem like we should accept bull getting castrated even though the whole movie comes acrossed as a commentary against castration. They had a good concept but the writing ruined it. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 08/30/25 Full Review Internet F Comedic in ways often unexplored, this film has an interesting storyline, often visually provocative scenes, and a well-adapted style of anthropomorphizing the actions of animals with a comical twist on reality. It does use excessive fiction and conveniently timed events which can make it seem inauthentic, but also can be a relief from the sexual-oriented storyline. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 08/30/25 Full Review Audience Member 0/100 it's the worst movie i've ever watched. simple as that. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 08/28/25 Full Review Joshua H Ok, but may be a bit bizarre and uncomfortable for most casual viewers Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 08/26/25 Full Review Read all reviews
