An odd early short from Kubrick cutting his teeth. Tells the tale of a plane flying priest (no honestly). In today's world this would just be a 30 second slot on the local news. See more 05/04/2012 Probably the best of the short documentaries made by Kubrick before he began his career in feature filmmaking. It follows the life of a Priest in New Mexico who has a plane and flies from one problem to the next in order to help the members of his parish, who seem to be spread out all over the area. It is a really bizarre little story. It is still kind of hard to watch these old documentaries with nothing but some mundane music, a narrator, and some sound effects. I would have loved to here the subject talk, or some of the people he is flying too...instead we have this newsreel narration telling us what is going on. See more Pandy 3 12/04/2010 Kubrick's second short black and white documentary is quite weird and funny in a unique way. Its shorter than the previous one and this time the camera follows a priest that travels between his parish by... his airplane of course! A fast mean for saving time and offering help to all of his flock, just like a humble superhero. The voice over narration fits great and the picture has overall nice air shots but apart from these is nothing special, just for one view ;) See more Read all reviews
