isla s I quite enjoyed this film in terms of the two 'less than bright sparks' type characters present and some of the conversations held between different people. There is a definite slapstick/visual comedy element to this otherwise action crime film and I liked that it doesn't take itself too seriously. Also, its quite dialogue heavy but there are some action scenes, of course. I'm not a massive fan of heist films but this one I thought was entertaining enough to keep me watching and features a decent cast, with Patrick Dempsey and Octavia Spencer, among others. Its hardly a great film but its entertaining and ocassionally amusing and so I'd say its worth a watch if it really interests you, even though it seems others don't tend to be too keen on it. Thats my opinion, for whatever its worth. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member For all it's star-power, Flypaper doesn't have much sticking power. Somewhere between heist angst and kitschy comedy, it lands in a no man's land. Dempsey and Judd are the central characters, but don't have much chemistry while the double robbery goes down. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Funny with action and plot twists. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review kevin c I love a good heist movie, and this one tries to hard to be as twisty as possible and a bit to comedic for me especially for a heist. Littered with a great ensemble cast including Patrick Dempsey, Ashley Judd, Octavia Spencer and Tim Blake Nelson. While parts were enjoyable it quickly became grating rather than fun. Although the funny aspects were perfectly performed by Nelson and Pruitt Taylor Vince, overall it just didn't work that well in my opinion. Should have been a full on comedy as that was the best aspect. Una LaMarche Observer You know there's something wrong with a comedy when you'd rather see the main characters killed off than live happily ever after. Aug 19, 2011 Full Review Brian Eggert Deep Focus Review Any potential for mindless entertainment value is hampered by cliché characters driving a derivative scenario, which plays out to predictable, unconvincing ends that seem all too familiar and far less diverting than they should be.
