Carla Hay Culture Mix Fog of War is a misguided World War II drama that is polluted by a terrible screenplay and cringeworthy acting. It’s a weak and boring story about a U.S. military pilot sent to spy on the farm property owned by his fiancée's wealthy family. May 1, 2025 Full Review John Kirk Original Cin Given all that’s wrong with the film, what’s really disappointing are all the hints that spoil the mystery. The plot-signaling makes Fog of War a film that compels you to fast-forward to the end just to see if your guess was right. Spoiler alert: It was. Rated: C Apr 8, 2025 Full Review Read all reviews

Harry P The nicest thing I can say about Fog of War is that the cinematography is polished, with some striking visual choices. Unfortunately, that sheen is about as deep as it goes. The script offers very little for the cast to work with, leaving most performances stilted and underdeveloped. John Cusack makes an honest effort to inject some life into his character, and you can feel him straining for emotional weight, but he’s ultimately fighting against paper-thin writing that gives him nothing to build on. Adding to the disappointment is the structure: the ending is essentially given away in the opening minutes. It saps the story of what little suspense it might have generated, so anyone hoping for a slow-burn mystery or a payoff down the line will likely be left cold. In the end, Fog of War feels like a film where talented people were trapped in a lackluster script, and the result is a movie that looks far better than it plays. This one is hard to recommend. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 08/28/25 Full Review Elisha I Looked promising, but the story was messy and forgettable—decent visuals, just not much else to hold onto. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 07/30/25 Full Review Matthew T Do not watch this garbage. Ridiculously weak unrealistic story. Do not waste your time Rated 1 out of 5 stars 06/24/25 Full Review A.L.Jude P A good fiction had gone nowhere. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 06/12/25 Full Review Jack M The story makes no sense. The only thing that could have saved this film is some mystery, but they give away the ending at the beginning. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 06/03/25 Full Review CT 8 A straight to video mess featuring some of the worst acting you’ll ever see. I wouldn’t recommend this movie to my worst enemy.
