Critics Consensus

Forever My Girl offers a suitably picturesque placeholder for romance fans between Nicholas Sparks films, but other viewers may end up crying for the wrong reasons.

Susan Wloszczyna RogerEbert.com There is more pleasure to be had in the dwindling returns of CMT's Nashville than in this country soap-opera. Rated: 1.5/4 Jan 20, 2018 Full Review Glenn Kenny New York Times The lead actors are very pretty. Jan 19, 2018 Full Review Peter Hartlaub San Francisco Chronicle It all feels a little bit off, as if every third scene was cut out randomly, and every camera angle came down to a fourth choice. Rated: 1/4 Jan 19, 2018 Full Review Richard Crouse Richard Crouse It's a Hallmark movie by way of Harlequin that features nice looking people falling back in love but it's the best non-Nicholas Sparks/Nicholas Sparks movie to come along in a while. Rated: 2.5/5 Feb 28, 2021 Full Review Matt Cipolla Film Monthly There's only so much that an audience can be expected to endure . . . and threading the needle with a piece of frayed denim just doesn't give the support that's needed. Geovanna A Nada de novo, enredo comum. Mas divertido se o objetivo for assistir algo leve e tranquilo para se distrair. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/02/24 Full Review ANNE1991 A The main character has no remorse for his dead high school BFF, but instead spends his time being obsessive with an ex HE left at the alter and afterwards feels entitled to see his unknown daughter in spite of never showing any true empathy or interest in other's. The most unforgiving and weird character flaw however, is the choice to make him completely technologically challenged to the point of not knowing how to order items online.... a solid way for the lead character to earn the gold medal in the ' man-child' category. Every girl pines for a 27 year old alcoholic country sweat-boi that needs tech support like an 80 year old. No? Find something else. Do not waste your time on this garbage. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 10/18/24 Full Review Sandy L I really enjoyed movie in similar script of Nicholas Sparks movies. 10/10! Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 06/24/24 Full Review JohnMichael S Movie starts off with him taking advantage of sleeping with a mentally challenged girl... perhaps she isn't, but that gets the conflict rolling. Despite being a musician, he hasn't transferred an important mp3 from an aging and damaged device to literally anything better. This leads to case of feeling sad, he goes home and finds out after he was an ass and cut off everyone whoever loved him, he has a daughter. Then with the power of predictability and trying real hard to be good.... you get the point. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/08/24 Full Review Sara Y It is only funny in places that it is meant to be serious. The plot is predictable and chock full of clique. Not one single character is believable. The whole movie is as cohesive as this review. All. Over. The. Dang. Map. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/19/24 Full Review Read all reviews
