Tom Dawson BBC.com Rated: 4/5 Aug 31, 2004 Full Review John Anderson Newsday I have seen Barbara Albert's Free Radicals three times now and could surely watch it 10 times more, finding something else on each visit to salve the soul. Rated: 4/4 Jul 23, 2004 Full Review V.A. Musetto New York Post Brims with energy, carefully drawn characters and fine acting, and sad-eyed Deborah Ten Brink, as Manu's daughter, is a scene-stealer. Rated: 3/4 Jul 23, 2004 Full Review Eric Monder Film Journal International A complex, moving examination of the human condition. Aug 8, 2004 Full Review David Sterritt Christian Science Monitor The parallel stories don't always dovetail with each other smoothly, but the acting is strong and the atmosphere is powerful. Rated: 3/4 Jul 29, 2004 Full Review Ken Fox TV Guide Albert leaves viewers with the intriguing notion that we're as much at the mercy of measurable physical forces as we are of the irrational. Audience Member Good depiction of modern life. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member this is a pic that asks for repeat viewing Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member I don't understand how any critic could watch this and give it a fresh rating. The critics seem to agree that it is depressing but that would require me to have some feeling towards the characters. I rather watch free willy three times in a row than get through this one all the way. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member An awesome, awesome movie. Intelligent, touching, bold. A veritable slice of (many) lives. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member not what i expected. the acting was acceptable, but the storyline left something to be desired. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member Interesting and unique film guided by the inspired and skillful direction of Barbara Albert. Despite the beauty of the film and the complex and well developed characters, I couldn't help but feel depressed at the end of the movie. Death is such a heavy and mysterious subject matter--that few if any of us can really understand or cope with. I know some much was going on throughout the movie that connecting all the dots will take multiple viewings. Either way, I suppose that the bottom line is: in death and tragedy one can still find beauty. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Read all reviews
