Early in the 21st century, technological advances have made it possible for aging, wealthy people to pay crooks like Vacendak (Mick Jagger) to go back in time, kidnap young victims like race car driver Alex Furlong (Emilio Estevez) and deliver them to the elderly clients, who then have their brains transplanted into the healthy bodies. Furlong manages to break free from his captors, but as a fugitive, he finds that the world of the future is a bleak, dangerous place.

Passed its energetic start, the film sums up in one chase after another and in trying to hold as much as possible the revelation of the "villain's" identity. [Full Review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

The New York of 2009 has just one extra skyscraper superimposed upon it. Far from being annoying, these economies lend the film an unexpected, olde-worlde charm. Go to Full Review

Robert P @Superbad 5 days ago Freejack = a 1.5 star Movie... See more Jordan P @RT91930377 6 days ago I loved it. Emilio was his usual self. Almost a Billy the kid figure. And I liked the freindship at the end. I don't know why people hate this movie. It's a fun action patched thriller. Have fun with it people! It's not to be taken seriously. And if it is oh well. It's a great watch. See more Joel H @786Joel Sep 8, 2026 Is Freejack a well-made movie? No, it is not. Is it entertaining? Yes, strangely it is. I guess I was just amused by how hard this movie tries to be cool, with its cheesy early 90s computer graphics and Mick Jagger stunt casting. But it’s completely ridiculous. Set in the year 2009, this post-apocalyptic tale tries its best to build a believable world. However, the elaborate sets and costumes almost come across as a parody of these types of films, and the plot is equal parts puzzling and predictable. And how on Earth did Anthony Hopkins end up in Freejack right after he was in The Silence of the Lambs? See more Claudio C @Claudio666 Aug 28, 2026 Original Sci-Fi (12,647–28 Aug 2026– Claudio Carvalho) The race car driver Alex Furlong expects to win the 1991 Grand Prix to marry his girlfriend Julie Redlund. However, he suffers an accident and is woken up in 2009 by a team of doctors. Their truck is attacked and he flees. Soon he learns that he died in 1991 but body hunters under the command of Victor Vacendak retrieved his body just before his death to transfer the mind of a wealthy man. Further, New York is a dystopian society with violence and homeless people. He looks for his friend Brad Carter, who betrays him, and Julie, who calls the police. "Freejack" (1992) is an original sci-fi from the early 90’s. The plot is amazing and despite the flaws, it is entertaining till now. People that are used to CGI mat not like the great but updated special effects. Emilio Esteves is miscast as romantic pair of Rene Russo, but the whole cast is excellent. My vote is seven. Mick Jagger is awesome, Emilio Estevez is awesome. Kinda like the cross between a chicken wing and Total Recall. See more nick S @Nick_S Jun 25, 2026 It's not really possible to take this seriously as an sci fi action movie. I imagine it was slightly embarrassing for the big names to see the final result. However, it's still dumb fun. I mean, a standoff between Estevez and Jagger pretending to be tough guys... does it get any more grin inducing? Just wished the writers had leant into the humour more.
