Early in the 21st century, technological advances have made it possible for aging, wealthy people to pay crooks like Vacendak (Mick Jagger) to go back in time, kidnap young victims like race car driver Alex Furlong (Emilio Estevez) and deliver them to the elderly clients, who then have their brains transplanted into the healthy bodies. Furlong manages to break free from his captors, but as a fugitive, he finds that the world of the future is a bleak, dangerous place.

Very interesting concept. Not badly written but not great either. Emilio is good in this, not great, as the lead. He was at his best being the lead with a group around him. The effects/timeliness have not aged well.

Interesting concept, the real problem is that it's very late 80s/early 90s in feel. You can see it in the reviews too, older reviews score it about mid. Newer audiences expect a bit better on some fronts but also have zero attention span. It's not as bad as the ratings.

Unless its based on a true story, 80s movies should be made in the 1980s; not in the second decade of the 21st century. Don't downgrade to the 1980s. It doesn't work. You're just 30+ years late.

Synopsis
