Audience Member It was watchable, just not good. Basically the film is a biopic of the Duke University porn star Belle Knox but it lacks any sort of resolution. It's been several years since this story broke... I would have been interested in seeing what actually happened to her, not just a visual retelling of a few news articles with a bit of backstory. Did porn ruin her life? Is she still pornin' it up? Do she end up in politics? Did she finish school? (Answer after googling; she's retired and plans to return to Duke and get a BA and wants a job to help sex workers. I just told you more than the whole movie did.) The filmography and dialogue isn't terrible for what it is, I mean, this is a Lifetime movie. It definitely has the "women in power, do what you want with your body, you go girl" Lifetime vibe. If you like Lifetime movies you'll like this movie. If you like good movies you probably won't like this movie. The college student who turned to porn and became a provocative figure with her outspokenness and confidence exposed a ton of middle class hypocrisy with her critique of everything from exploding college tuition to misogyny and backwards attitudes towards sexuality. This film replays some of those dramas and nicely illustrates the ideas at stake, while not neglecting the high personal toll this all took on Miriam Weeks.
