Joel H Funland isn’t fun. This attempt at a dark comedy fails on almost every level. The plot is simple, but then they pad the runtime with too many characters and unnecessary side stories. There is so much filler. Also, the comedy falls flat on its face almost every single time. I think only one joke lands the entire movie. It’s also not that dark. I’m not saying I wanted an R rating, but they seem to want it and yet they don’t take any big chances. The acting is all over the place, too. It’s as if each character is in a different movie. If you’re not forced to watch it, I’d recommend skipping Funland. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 10/07/25 Full Review Audience Member A hidden gem in the lexicon of campy horror film, decent acting, including future SNL cast members, tons of ridiculous yet entertaining scenes. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Mildly racist, a slow burning movie with dated jokes that wouldn't have been funny in the 80s. I found myself waiting for some B-Style gory deaths to be a saving grace but the movie didn't even have that. Boo. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Very outdated movie, the clown made me cringe. Not really worth watching this at all. The storyline was dull, and for a comedy I rarely laughed. There is much better movies out there from the same time period as this movie that were made that still don't feel so dated. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member Hahaha, not a movie for my personal library, but with the dated look and even dated comedy, I was glad I saw it just once. It is corny, but I enjoyed it I guess - just not enough to recommend.
