Synopsis
With Walter Matthau as guide and narrator, this retrospective of moments in classic comedy covers a great deal of ground. Director and film critic Richard Schickel culls together clips from Laurel and Hardy films such as "Blockheads" and "County Hospital," as well as a wealth of other clips from comedians like Abbot and Costello, Mae West, the Marx Brothers and W.C. Fields. He also delves into the work of Bob Hope and film director Ernst Lubitsch.
