What to Know

Critics Consensus

Race and class struggles come to the Hamptons in this reworking of The Great Gatsby with a hip-hop flavor. Unfortunately, too many subplots and a lack of believable characters spoil an otherwise novel concept.

I still thought there were enough good performances, great visuals, and an interesting examination of a lifestyle in a way that we haven't seen a lot of times in movies for me to recommend it. Go to Full Review

michael r 05/23/2022 The first half hour of over the top stereotypes did it for me…this movie is just terrible. See more 12/10/2019 Loosely based on The Great Gatsby and fairly good. See more 09/04/2012 Richard T jones and Blair Underwood are so hott! See more 05/21/2011 Given that this was supposed to be based on a hip hop lifestyle in the Hamptons, it was a little lacking in bling. The leads have all done better work on other projects. A poor reworking of the Great Gatsby. See more 04/27/2010 3+ star average? Who is watching this??? Blair Underwood, I am embarrassed for you.
