Critics Consensus

Too straight-faced to have as much fun with its juicy premise as it could, G20 is more pedestrian than presidential but does have a commanding lead in Viola Davis.

Viola Davis is the dealmaker. Sure, she brings an extra dimension of emotional truth and groundedness to the character, but it’s not just that. It’s also what Sutton symbolises. Go to Full Review

Yep, we’re deep into fantasy territory with this preposterous, dumb-as-rocks action picture. Redeeming it slightly is the consistently impressive Viola Davis, Go to Full Review

Not exactly a world leader in the action movie stakes – but entertaining enough, particularly thanks to Viola Davis.  Go to Full Review

...not too much as to overshadow Danielle because at the end of the day this is Viola Davis' vehicle. Yet, overshadowing her is exactly what this film does for the initial action scenes. Go to Full Review

Overly formulaic, functional and lacking in real twists. The most enjoyable part of G20 is watching Viola Davis kick ass in true old-school action hero style. [Full Review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Every moment spent on exposition of the unnecessarily complicated plot was a moment Davis was not shooting at stuff. Go to Full Review

Jett Z Dec 29 holy fucking sh**!! Don't write it off, the last 30 minutes, gives an intense raw play by play of what I can only imagine the truest most alone feeling of what fighting for your actual life feels like. Viola Davis hits this out of the park with this ending, the breath by breath action sequence combined w/ the pulling of the heart strings of a mothers love, truely makes you think twice about your ENTIRE life!!! I WILL have that Viola hallway near end action scene EMBEDDED into my amygdala for a very long time. See more Pedro Henrique C @Pedro2005 Dec 27 G20 (2025) I personally didn't think the movie was bad, just mediocre; the story is quite fast-paced and predictable. The action sequences aren't exactly fun to watch, but it's just another forgettable Prime Video movie. See more Hughe J @Hughe Dec 21 G20 was released in theatres in 2025 and stars Viola Davis as the President of the United States who while at a peace summit has to fight an army of terrorists virtually by herself. While that premise sounds silly it was clearly made in advance of who the producers assumed would win the 2024 real United States presidential election. It's a poorly made clone of better movies like Olympus has Fallen or White House Down which had true action stars and not Viola Davis, who is an excellent actress but clearly has no idea how to fight or use firearms. This is just not a good movie unfortunately and I cannot recommend it. See more K. PF Nov 15 Worst movie every, not much more to say.
