William Schwartz HanCinema The only reason this movie exists is to deliver crude, silly jokes heavily laced with innuendo. Oct 29, 2019 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member a cute korean comedy about family, love, and business Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review jesse o I've finally figured out the formula for these Korean romantic comedies. The first 70% of the film consists of silliness, 25% drama closer to the end, and the last 5% is back to the film being a silly comedy again. I've seen so many films that follow this formula that I've really lost count. This isn't exclusive to just Korean films, but I've noticed it the most in South Korean flicks. And that's fine, as this works for the audience they're trying to appeal to. Fortunately this film isn't as melodramatic as is usual in these films. Unfortunately though, the comedy does sort of fall flat. I do like the fact that some of these films openly embrace silliness like it was going out of style, but the writing for this film isn't particularly good. Gangster falls in love with prosecutor, gangster then proceeds to hide who he really is. I just think whoever wrote this, obviously, didn't put much effort and just went with the basic stuff you'd expect from this premise. There's also this deal where the gangster's penis gets 'torn' that really goes nowhere. The drama isn't any better because, as usual, it just ends up feeling forced. For once, just once, I'd like to see one of these films refuse to force any drama into the proceedings. Just silly comedy from beginning to end. I guarantee that it would be a considerably better experience. I just think the drama here, which isn't as bad, makes an average movie just slightly worse. It simply shouldn't be in here. That said, this movie is fine. I've seen worse films but this one will still be erased from my mind fairly quickly.
