Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member Immensely grim, and sprawling to an extent that the seams show a little bit too much. The movie attempts to cover the entire battle of Okinawa in 150 minutes, giving us little time to get to know anyone, save perhaps for shallow looks into the lives of a few of the officers, and a local barber. The lack of anyone to latch onto makes the movie a little distant and less involving than it could have been.
