Thor-Jakob L A philosophical film where the soldier must decide what their duty is while hunting down a man seemingly responsible for multiple genocides. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Late R With a poignant story that feels almost prophetic at times, 'Genocidal Organ' is more of a thinking man's film than you might expect and has a surprising amount of insight, covering a number of issues such as the darker side of politics, ethics and accountability, and doing so in an intelligent, philosophical way. It's quite nicely animated, too. But things go awry when it comes to the characters who are boring and flatly written with little, if anything, about them that qualifies as memorable. Other let-downs include an explanation for the film's events that is a bit of a reach, to say the least; and a lack of thrills which, bearing in mind the narrative, is somewhat justifiable. If you go into it not expecting an action-packed affair, it is interesting and certainly has something to say, but there's no denying the feeling that it just doesn't live up to its full potential.
