In the continuing adventures of the G.I. Joe team, Duke (Channing Tatum), second-in-command Roadblock (Dwayne Johnson), and the rest of the Joes (D.J. Cotrona, Lee Byung-hun) face a two-fold threat. Not only is their mortal enemy COBRA rearing its ugly head again, but there is also a threat from within the U.S. government: There might be an impostor in the White House. Meanwhile, Snake Eyes (Ray Park) is on a search for inner peace but learns that his nemesis, Storm Shadow, is still alive.

This movie knows how to set up a villain. Unfortunately, there is no payoff and a sequel (part three) has not been made. Made with major star power, including Dwayne Johnson at his biggest, there was plenty going right with this film, despite how silly the premise is. The key was, the movie knows it is making a silly GI Joe plot and leans into it with Zartan hamming it up. Overall a decent 2nd movie in a franchise that wasn't going to be great, but could have been a cult hit if done right. I guess we never know now.

There were some decisions in the storytelling that didn't make a lot of sense for me, and it made this movie less than what it could've been. Despite its shortcomings, this movie was incredibly fun to watch. The action was awesome, the story was intense, and the visuals were amazing. I definitely recommend it for action, spy-thriller, and combat fans, and for fans of the G.I. Joe franchise!

Honestly, I was expecting something more. There are too many loose ends without explanation. Why do they have "mouse" and then nobody knows any about him? Why do they have to kill so fast Duke? The Rock is overreacting at any scane. The movie is sooooo bad!
