In early 19th-century Canada, orphaned sisters Ginger (Katharine Isabelle) and Brigitte (Emily Perkins) find themselves lost in a forest while riding on horseback. They're rescued by The Hunter (Nathaniel Arcand), a mysterious Native American who takes them back to Fort Bailey. Something strange has happened there, however. The few settlers who remain are suspicious of outsiders and keep tight-lipped about the situation, but Ginger soon discovers their secret for herself.

La plupart du film reprend clairement et sans originalité les grandes lignes du premier film avec un décor et des personnages différents. Cependant, la finalité et le contexte, qui est celui de la colonisation, offre de la nouveauté. Cela est aussi déplorable que la plupart des personnages soient complétement inintéressant. Le film reste malgré tout un bon divertissement agréable à voir.

What the flip ginger snaps? The first two movies were great and then you throw a prequel at us. What the flip? The 2nd movie ended on a cliff hanger and I wanted more. I found out that they filmed the second and third movie back to back. What the flip again? This could've been a great trilogy if this movie followed the second. But instead it's a prequel?? Who came up with that terrible idea? I'm very disappointed and I love the two main characters of ginger and Bridgette but gosh dang this did them zero justice and made the this movie look as bad as the lost boys sequels. They didn't do anything with the story. This feels like a movie wasted on bad script writing and bad decision making. In the end don't watch this, watch the first 2 ginger snap movies. But man this could've been good but gosh dang prequels.
